Fun show tonight and other good stuff coming down the pipeline soon

May 16, 2007

Tonight's show was a fun week night show.  Brenda Neiles had to bow out of the opening slot but her partner in rhyme (is that too cheesy?  I think it might be) and most excellent songwriter himself, Marcel Desilets, quickly came to the rescue.

I played a few songs I haven't played live in some time, including a couple I wrote way back when I first moved to Winnipeg almost 8 years ago, one of which chronicles my brief employment as a telemarketer selling pantyhose (it's true, I don't think I'm creative enough to make something like that up!).

In other news, I've been recording up a storm (or an album?) and it's sounding good.  It's fresh and straying fairly far from Discoverers, so far in fact that I may have to put together a proper lineup to accompany me on stage in the near future.  Who knows?  Psychics must, I'm sure.

I'm also planning a few more gigs/events for the summer months, so this won't be the last you'll be hearing from me I promise you that.

Cheers,

Johnny
